Welcome to the newly remodeled Virgil’s All-Night Diner. What is the All-Night Diner, you ask? Imagine driving down a lonely highway. You’ve been on the road for a long time and now you’re tired, achy, maybe hungry for a grilled cheese. And there it is – Virgil’s All-Night Diner. It’s where you fill your tank before starting down that long road once more.
And once again for the cliched metaphor impaired: You’re driving down a lonely highway (life). You’ve been on the road (life) a long time (a long time) and now you’re (your soul) is tired, achy, maybe hungry for a grilled cheese (grilled cheese for the soul, yes.) And there it is – Virgil’s All-Night Diner (Classic Roman poet meets American pop-culture icon). It’s where you fill your tank (refresh your soul) before starting down that long road (life) once more.
See, I love philosophy, but I love Battlestar Galactica more; Lost precedes Plato and Caprica Descartes. I devour Shakespeare, Dante, Chaucer, and Hemingway – but only after a healthy dose of Buffy, Bugs, and Burn Notice. Invariably these worlds collide: Wes Craven illuminates Augustine; Caprica brings meaning to Boethius. It’s odd, but that’s how things work in my brain.

Virgil’s Views – Here’s where you’ll find commentary on pop culture related news. The All-Night Diner doesn’t function well as a news site. It offers opinion and perspective, not quick updates.
